How can we make transport sustainable and future-proof?

This is one of the core questions in the transition to a carbon-neutral economy. Inland Terminals Group believes that inland navigation is an essential piece of the puzzle.

Sustainable Container Transport

Blue is the new green. Inland navigation presents a sustainable and cost-efficient alternative to road transport. A single barge takes at least 150 trucks off the road, contributing to the reduction of CO2 emissions and decrease of traffic congestion.

Lean and Green

Inland Terminals Group operates with respect for nature. In 2018, our subsidiary BCTN was the first inland terminal operator in the Netherlands and Belgium to earn its third Lean & Green Star. This certification acknowledges BCTN’s results in reducing energy consumption and CO2 emissions.

Sailing towards zero emissions

Inland Terminals Group’s ambition is clear: emission-free inland shipping by 2030. As leader in this transition, we continuously work towards solutions that bring us closer to this goal. This includes shore power at our terminals, electric barges and trucks, and wind turbines next to our terminals to supply us with green energy.
